All they have to do is add the number “8” to the beginning of their existing landline number. So if your current number is 123-4567, it becomes 8123-4567,” said PLDT and Smart Public. Ramon R.Isberto, Head of Affairs. “We would like to encourage our subscribers in Metro Manila and other ’02’ areas to send their updated numbers to callers and update their promotional materials such as business cards, websites and social media.” added. The migration process will begin in the early morning of October 6th from 00:01 to 05:00.
Provincial callers need only go through the normal domestic direct dialing procedure, which now includes the 8-digit number of your Metro Manila contact: Dial 0 + area code (2) + phone number 8-digit landline number. Proceed as follows: Dial 00 + country code (63) + area code (2) + 8-digit landline number.
Globe announced that it has met National Telecommunications Commission (CNT) guidance by completing the migration of all of its landline numbers beginning with the 02 area code to 8 digits on October 6th.
Number 7 has now been added to the beginning of Globe At Home landline numbers and DUO numbers, and number 3 has been added to Bayan landline numbers. DUO and international calls in 8-digit format are fully operational since the morning of October 6th. “Our technical team has worked hard to ensure the successful implementation of 8-digit landline numbers,” added Castelo.
However, some calls from Globe At Home, DUO and Bayan landlines to PLDT landlines may experience intermittent service interruptions due to some issues on the PLDT side.
