Avianca Cargo strategic fleet expansion: Truth In Focus Here

Avianca Cargo will boost its relevance in the region by increasing capacity in the Colombian and Ecuadorian export markets.

As a key part of its growth and strengthening plan, Avianca Cargo announced the addition of 2 and up to 4 cargo aircraft, which will increase its capacity by up to 70 between 2022 and 2024. With the arrival of the A330 P2F aircraft (passenger converted into cargo aircraft), which will gradually be integrated into the cargo fleet, Avianca Cargo will strengthen its importance in the region by expanding its capacities in the Colombian and Ecuadorian export markets, as well as in the import markets increased from the United States to South America.

These actions are part of the airline’s strategic plan and commitment to strengthening point-to-point routes between North America and Latin America.

“We are very pleased to announce the arrival of these aircraft to our cargo fleet. With their incorporation we will not only offer greater capacity, but also an increasingly robust and flexible route network focused on the needs of our customers and facilitating trade between Latin America and the entire world. We reaffirm our commitment to continue supporting the economies of the region, serving as strategic ally for our customers and the industries,” said Gabriel Oliva, CEO of Avianca Cargo.

With the addition of these A330 aircraft, Avianca airline is consolidating itself as the airline with one of the most efficient cargo fleets in the region and increasingly sustainable operations. A clear commitment from the company to help protect the environment by reducing emissions and carbon footprint.

“We are proud that Avianca Cargo selected the A330-300P2F. This new generation freighter jet will provide Avianca Cargo with a highly efficient and flexible operation based on the proven and technologically advanced A330 family and it’s the perfect complement to their existing A330-200F fleet, benefiting Avianca Cargo from the advantages of family commonality” said Arturo Barreira, president Airbus Latin America.

Avianca reaffirms its commitment to strengthening its freight business, which will have new frequencies, greater capacity and better direct connectivity for the market and its customers in the Americas.
